OVMC offers an array of primary and tertiary care services, from 24-hour EMSTAR emergency and trauma care, rehabilitation, diagnostic radiology & neurology services, Hillcrest inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, complete cardiology services, intensive care and general surgery. Its advanced diagnostic capabilities include: Magnetic resonance imaging, brain-dedicated spect imaging, bone densitometry, computerized brain mapping, heart catheterization & stereotactic needleless biopsy of the breast. Advanced treatment services include: hyperbaric oxygen therapy, high-energy linear accelerator for cancer treatment & lithotripsy for the treatment of kidney stones. Surgical subspecialties include: obstetrics and gynecology; ear, nose and throat; vascular; thoracic (chest); orthopedic, including joint implants; urology; neurosurgery; and eye surgery. Specialized services in medicine include cardiology, oncology and psychiatry.
Central Scheduling: Scheduling of most outpatient and pre-admission testing with a one phone call.
Ree Cook-Reiter Women's Center: Provides outpatient testing for women in a personal setting including feminine decor, private dressing rooms, patient education and a professional, carring staff.
Sleep-Wake Disorders Center: Designed to assist physicians in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of prolonged disorders of sleeping and waking such as insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, organic impotence and epilepsy and other sleep-related problems.
Genetic Counseling and Testing: Providing counseling and BRAC analysis I and II for breast and ovarian cancers through the OVMC Women's Center.
EECP: (Enhanced External Counter Pulsation) is a noninvasive, outpatient treatment for patients who have continued angina despite all possible surgical, angioplasty and medical treatments.
The Center For Breast Care: A comprehensive Breast Care Program, which provides breast health education, screening, diagnosis, and treatment in one coordinated environment.
Red Cross Blood Donation Center: OVMC is a fixed weekly blood collection site.
Trauma Center: OVMC is a level two-trauma center in the State of West Virginia.
Comprehensive Rehabilitation: Provides patients with both in and out patient programs to assist individuals with a variety of disease conditions. Services include Pediatric Physical Therapy, Adult Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Hand Therapy and Speech/Language Therapy.
Education: OVMC has two Educational Programs for future healthcare providers. OVMC’s Graduate Medical Education Department provides training to medical school students, interns and residents. Residency programs include, internal medicine, family practice and emergency medicine. The Radiologic Technology Program at OVMC is a 24-month program with a clinical and classroom activity based instructional curriculum.
Monthly Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Screenings: Monthly screenings are offered to the community at OVMC and EORH.
