Ohio Valley Medical Center's Residency programs utilize a community-based hospital as its source of teaching. OVMC is a 225-bed hospital located in the industrialized upper Ohio Valley and heart of downtown Wheeling. OVMC attracts patients of all socioeconomic classes and age groups. We serve as a tertiary care center for many nearby rural hospitals. This diversity provides an excellent source for medical training. Our faculty and volunteer teaching attendings maintain an evidenced-based, clinically oriented, hands on approach to medical training. OVMC has been involved with medical education for over 50 years. The hospital has been aggressive in training physicians, medical students, nurses, LPNs, radiology techs, physical therapists and respiratory therapists either through it's own programs or in conjunction with local colleges and universities. Our physicians, nurses and administration are committed to providing an excellent environment for learning.
